The Improved Duarte Plum tree produces very large fruit that is heart shaped and blood red in color. The flavor is excellent and widely regarded as one of the best tasting plums on the market. The fruit dries well and has a long storage life. The fruit has a slightly tart taste when cooked. The tree is a prolific producer of fine quality plums.

The Indian Summer Crabapple has abundant pink flowers with an extended blooming period. It blooms with King bloom of Red Delicious apple tree. This excellent shipping prune is a heavy bearer and good for both canning and drying.

Some acidity is associated with the skin. Quality for the fresh market is good. The pit is large and freestone. Goldbar is not suitable for canning. It is a vigorous tree that flowers heavily but sets light crop, which increases fruit size.

The Golden Delicious apple is an excellent all purpose cooking apple. This apple has firm, white flesh that retains its shape when baked or cooked. Its rich mellow flavor, sweet and crisp, is an asset to any recipe.You can cut down the sugar in pies and sauces made from Golden Delicious apples. The skin is so tender and thin that you can skip peeling for many recipes. It is also outstanding when used in a fruit bowl and for fresh fruit.

The Goldstrike apricot has large and firm fruit. The fruit is round to slightly oval and is very large when well-thinned. The skin is a light-orange color and slightly glossy. It is a perfect pear to serve for dessert. The 'Gourmet' is pollen sterile, which means that it cannot be used to pollinate a second pear tree. The Gourmet trees are upright and medium in size.

The Granny Smith apples have been cultivated for at least 140 years. Sour apple fans will tell you that the Granny Smith should not be cooked, but eaten raw. Plant these in the yard and you'll be pickin' sweet and hearty apples when the snow flies, because they ripen in early November! That tart flavor really lasts, and stays fresh all winter and spring. Granny Smith is your kind of apple. It is known for keeping its zesty flavor even when it is used for cooking or sautTed.

The Honeycrisp apple is a high quality apple which keeps well for 5-6 months in common storage. The tree is one of the most vigorous and hardy of apple trees, showing little damage at -40 degrees. Cortland apples are wonderful for kabobs, fruit plates and garnishes because they don't turn brown quickly when cut. The Cortland apple is an attractive large red-striped apple that can be best described as juicy. It is an heavy annual bearer.

The D'Anjo Pear is a large pear. The flesh is white with abundant juice and a sweet brisk flavor. It is a naturally sweet pear, light green in color with a yellow tinge when ripe. Anjou pears have exceptional keeping qualities. The best flavor is realized when stored 1-2 months. The tree is very hardy, large and highly productive. The D'Anjou does not change color as it ripens. Requires cross pollination with Bartlett or any other pear with the same bloom date.

The Damson plum has a small, oval fruit, and is good for canning. The dark purple skin covers the golden yellow flesh. It has a spicy, tart flavour. Damsons are used for cooking, jam & wine making. A hardy, tree, largely untroubled by pests and diseases. Damsons succeed where most plums would fail. They are semi-shade tolerant and they grow to 12-14 ft. They make good windbreaks and hedges, though they are not likely to fruit well if they are very exposed. Damsons are mostly self-fertile and cross-pollinate with plums.

The Comice Pear produces a large pear with a very juicy, melting flesh. It has an outstanding flavor. The Comice is not self-pollinating and requires a pollinator. The Castleton prune fruit is of medium size that rarely split. It is one of the best eating prune available. This prune tree is very productive and is relatively small. The skin is bright in appearance and it is split resistant due to flexible skin. The Lapin is an excellent pollinator and is a heavy bearer.

The Braeburn Apple has a sweet flavor balanced with a moderate tartness that produces a unique blend. The texture is crisp and firm and juicy. The under color is yellowish green and is shaded by a broadly red-striped color pattern. Braeburn apples are an old-fashioned sweet apple with a smooth and crisp texture. It's great for snacks and salads. It is a late season apple with a long storage life. Its eating qualities make it adaptable for cooking as well as fresh use.

The Chestnut Crabapple blooms in mid-May. It has a pleasant nut-like flavor. It produces a very large crabapple, up to 2" in diameter that ripens in early September. Snow Drift' Crabapple is a splendid tree and little pruning is required to develop a well-formed, rounded canopy. There appears to be little variation in shape among trees of this cultivar, a characteristic which is coveted by landscape architects. The bright white flowers in the spring give a refreshing look to the landscape and are followed by small, red-orange fruit eaten by birds. Fall color is good, providing a dull yellow glow for two or three weeks. It combines beauty with its great pollinizing chacteristics.

The Bittenut Hickory, Carya cordiformis, is also known as the Yellow-bud Hickory tree. The lighter colored shallow cracks in the younger bark are roughly similar to those of young Shagbark Hickory, but the mature bark of Yellow-bud Hickory does not split so deeply. Kentucky Coffee trees are large round-barked trees belonging to the legume family and reaches heights of 60 to 100 feet. Its short trunk, 1 to 2 feet in diameter, divides into several large branches. The leaves are ovalish and are 2-4 inches long. An unofficial state tree of Kentucky, the Kentucky Coffee Tree is closely related to the honeylocust. This deciduous tree is ideal as a shade tree on larger, ungroomed properties. It got its name because early North American colonists used the large seeds to make coffee. When eaten raw, the seeds are poisonous. The bark is deeply furrowed and dark brown in colour. It adapts well to urban conditions. Fall color is yellow turning to orange.

The Flame Amur Maple tree, Acer ginnala, is usually a multi-stemmed tree, noted for its fiery-red autumn color. Its summer color is green, but is mixed with bright red samaras or 'helicopters' in mid summer. Flame Amur Maple trees are extremely hardy and drought resistant once established. They make an excellent screen or hedge. These deciduous trees are best grown in normal garden soil in full sun to partial shade. They are used widely in landscapes as hedge, partitions, or short tree-shrubs. They leaf out early and cast dense shade. It is a vigorous grower that is very tolerant of temperature extremes. The Heritage River Birch tree, Betula nigra, 'Heritage', is the most prominent of all the cultivars of River Birch trees. One of the most appealing features of the Heritage« Birch is the bark, which, on larger, young branches and stems, is reddish to pinkish brown and peels off in papery strips. The exposed inner bark is gray-brown to cinnamon-brown to reddish brown. The bark of this deciduous tree, when mature, is ridged and deepens to dark brown. This tree is handsome without leaves because of its graceful silhouette and exfoliating bark.

The Gingko tree, Ginkgo biloba, is the sole surviving species of a group of Gymnosperms that flourished 65 million years ago, the time when dinosaurs existed. Gingko trees are also called Maidenhair trees. This tree can have a lifespan as long as 1,000 years. It is the only living gymnosperm (which includes pines, firs, and spruces) that sheds its leaves during the fall. They turn bright yellow in autumn. The fruits are plum like, about 1", and are orange-yellow when ripe. Tree can attain a height of 100 to 122 feet with a girth of 3 to 4 feet. In the Unites States, these deciduous trees are used for herbal supplements. Ginkgo biloba are sold as memory-boosters and "longevity" pills. The medicinal components of ginkgo are the dried leaves, the seeds separated from their fleshy outer layer, and the fresh leaves. The production of sassafras oil by distillation of the root and root bark is a small industry in the southeastern section of the country. Leaves are a medium green and turn orange, red, or yellow in fall.

The Nuttall Oak tree, Quercus nuttallii, was not distinguished as a species until 1927. It is also called red oak, Red River oak, and pin oak. It is one of the few commercially important species found on poorly drained clay flats and low bottoms of the Gulf Coastal Plain and north in the Mississippi and Red River Valleys. The acorn or winter buds identify Nuttall oak, easily confused with pin oak (Q. palustris). The lumber is often cut and sold as red oak. In addition to producing timber, Nuttall oak is an important species for wildlife management because of heavy annual mast production. Nuttall Oak trees are a good choice for low poorly drained locations. During winter, squirrels find a ready supply of acorns, since many acorns remain on the tree into January. The Swamp Chestnut Oak tree, Quercus michauxii, is known also as a basket oak for the baskets made from its wood, and cow oak because cows eat the acorns. The high quality wood is used in all kinds of construction and for implements. The acorns are sweet and serve as food to wildlife. The tree grows in the rich, moist, well-drained soil of bottomlands and other soil types on not-so-dry slopes. The Pygmy Globe, Thuja occidentalsis, is a globe shaped dwarf arborvitae tree. These Arborvitae trees have bright green foliage. This slow compact growing evergreen tree does not need to be sheared to maintain the globe shape. The Pygmy Globe tree or shrub thrives in full sun or light shade. It has great appeal as a specimen planting or as an accent shrub in a yard or garden area.

The Chuckles rose is a hardy Canadian-bred shrub that can be grown as a small climber or pruned as a bush.
